Other things to keep in mind:

  • work trade is usually reserved for people who are not already working
  • work trade days come up as we need them, we expect you to be able to clear your schedule to show up for days
  • work trade agreements are the same level of responsibility as any job, we expect you to show up on time and ready to work
  • when you register an account on this website, you are added to an email list where announcements are made
  • if you plan to take this work trade on, be prepared to work safely outdoors
  • we cannot guarentee that there will be enough work trade hour opportunities for you to exchange work for tuition during the period leading up to a training for first half of tuition or during the training itself, though there generally have been adequate opportunities

Gardening/Landscaping:

contact: David

Most of the work trade opportunities involve landscaping and working outdoors. This is a great opportunity to be outdoors and have fun while learning a bit. It is also regular landscape work so expect everything that goes along with that, being outside and getting dirty (getting in the dirt is fun!)

Opportunites come up from time to time to work on various projects. You will be notified by email of these opportunities as they arise.

18th & Rhode Island Garden:

We have a standing work day at 18th & Rhode Island Garden every Friday from 11am to 4pm. Just stop by the garden on any Friday and you can do work trade hours.

The garden is at the corner of 18th and Rhode Island streets in the potrero Hill neighborhood. You can't miss it, no fence or gate, just stop by.

If for any reason you are not able to work at landscaping, please get in touch with us. We sometimes have opportunities for work trade that do not involve working outdoors.
